it's my fourth year on 365. i am not normally a slow learner but i just can't get this photography thing down pat. i have learned all the basics of my cameras but i know they can do more stuff if i knew how to use them more properly.
so this year, i'm willing to pay attention and take bolder steps. (no, still not doing nude shots.) try to cross off more items in that photography bucket list. i resolve to learn how to use the photoshop elements thingie (and stop using the word thingie - heavens! i used to be so smart!). put to use and/or practice those valuable tips and advice i've been reading around here.
well, we'll see what happens as the year wears on.
in any case, this week, it's fill the frame for me. i like macro shots, but they're only really useful for bugs and i hate bugs. the only bugs i like is bugs bunny but i'm too old to watch cartoons. so making use of my raynox macroscopic lens and not bother with any muscled macro lens.
i'm blabbing, i shall stop now, but thank you for your kind visits and comments; you all know i greatly appreciate them.
This is glorious. I predict you doing a nude shot by year end. It was on my non bucket list and I got the urge one day and did it spontaneously while steeping my tea. Fav. Just love the color of peacock feathers and your fab focus here!
@amandal - i predict i will be doing a nude shot because you will be posing for me? i better keep on honing my lighting and portraiture skills or whatever little of that i have. :-D thank you, a and also for the generous fav.
Stunning colours there @summerfield i have yet to take my first shot at the moment as we did not move from the hotel we stayed at for NYE because of the terrible weather :( Good luck for your projects this year ;)
What a gorgeous feather, the colours are lovely! I don't know how you've managed 4 years, well done! I've not even done 1 and I'm struggling a bit now!
I love the detail and colors. I have to disagree with you about the macro lens. I use mine for so many things, but maybe it’s because I like a shallow dof and somewhat abstract compositions! I didn’t realize you’ve been here four years!
Well, as this shot proves, macros are not just for bugs! I think we will have to come back to macros in May or something- for a week. Except for Feb. black and white book club, I am staying away from those monthly challenges unless one is really different and creative. Congratulations on year #4. We are going to have fun with this one!
this shot is so beautiful, the detail of the texture is very great and the colour...delicious
Glad you're sticking around too! The Thingie Club needs members :)
I'm happy you are sticking around. I especially like your stories.
