inverted flowers

i would not profess that i know the name of this flower because i don't know. they're white and the base is yellowish and those dark sports are very dark purple. the leaves are green. :-)

does anyone know what they're called? this was the only one of its kind in the garden near the CN tower.

thank you for your kind visits and comments; they are very much appreciated.
Sorry Vikki I can't help you out but I am sure someone will know. Nice look to this in b/w

It's not a plant, I know! - its a chandelier in the wild!

Shooting star or cowslip are both common names for dodecatheon

They look gorgeous but I have no idea what they might be. Did a quick search and I think Dixie has identified them for you @pandorasecho

I think Dixie is right- looks a lot like the Shooting Star picture in my Audubon book- although their picture makes it look like a very light purple. Pretty!
