nature's abstract

i'm just going through now with some of the shots i took during my meet up with ann @olivetreeann two saturdays ago.

we had lunch at a restaurant near the falls called 'the secret garden' where right beside it there was a garden which was not so secret, although there was a gated portion, locked of course, which we didn't explore but you can still see it from the locked iron gate.

while ann was taking photos of the black-eyed susans with the tiny grasshopper on it, this was what i was taking a picture of: a lone yellow flower which was taller than the others around it and against a backdrop of the leaves of the tropical gladiolis, made for a rather striking abstract. i can't quite decide whether i like the selective colouring or the total black and white, or the full coloured version. here's a collage of both: http://365project.org/summerfield/365-again/2014-07-26
this is striking - the patterns on the leaves is beautiful

I love how the flower pops in this one, although I cannot say which is my favourite one!

I like this! And the texture of the leaves really stands out in B&W!

This is my least favourite, which is unusual as normally I like sc

And I do like the sc against the black and white leaves as well. I don't think the gate was locked- or there may have been another way in because I saw people in there. Well now, there's something else to explore next time!

Great patterns on the black and white leaves, love the droplets on them and the pop of yellow.
