all the birds sing harmonies
to the top line of the breeze
while the ocean breathes his name
on whispering waves
outdoors and landscapes this week.
i was in the car waiting for partner while he lined up at tim horton's for his coffee. we were on our way to pick up the boys at nine. the birds were a-plenty and i was so engrossed in watching them i didn't think of taking a photo until most of them had flown away. at one point, these branches were teeming with birds and i tried to count them before i came to my senses and took some shots.
gray skies in the morning when this was taken so i upped the exposure and converted it in ribbet to get this effect.
thank you so much for your kind visits and comments; know that they are so much appreciated.
I like the inverted color(less). What you describe is funny ... sometimes I drive and just admire the landscapes, then think "why didn't you stop (and take a picture)?"
@francoise sometimes nature is meant to be enjoyed and NOT photographed according to @bobfoto and I agree with him. We get so caught up in the details of photography that we lose the opportunity to enjoy the moment sometimes. You do well to just experience it.
@grammyn - oh thank you Katy. Sometimes we do have to allow our minds to appreciate the finer detail. I read somewhere that in 1 day now, we take more photos than we did in the whole of 1965 or something along those lines.... we are training our brains to forget.
@bobfoto Not a surprising statistic since EVERYONE seems to have a camera phone these days! Documentation of each second of our lives is not always a desirable activity is it?
@grammyn@francoise@summerfield@bobfoto
I find at least twice per month I forget to take my phone with me, but, I have not left the house without my camera when heading to work, I do leave it if I'm going grocery shopping or such, but not when I'll be gone for hours. But, I'm not documenting my meals, etc.
@bill_fe I really feel it is people that are younger than you and l (if I may be so bold) who feel the need to document everything. We older ones recognize like @bobfoto that some things are meant to be enjoyed only, not documented.
@bobfoto@grammyn@bill_fe - i can believe what jason said. when the google satellite map came up several years ago, when i googled my address and on zooming found an image of me opening my car door, i was quite amused. a few months later, i drove to chicago to visit my brother and we were discussing about the satellite maps when on a whim we googled their address and the image had my rental car parked in their driveway. goofy coincidence. we googled again a few days after i left, my car wasn't in the image anymore.
@bill_fe - you know when you rent a car from the big name companies, you have to declare where you have to go. that was also the one and only time i got stopped at the border and inspected thoroughly. the american border guards were very apologetic afterwards but they did put me in a closed room with mirrors and i was not allowed to bring anything with me except for my wallet. after they asked me what kind of work i do and i told them the name of my lawfirm and after five minutes they asked me to step out and that everything's okay. i think my rental car was a hot car or suspected to have been one. yeah, billy, it's just me! :-P
Instant fav! Love the simplicity. I'm constantly amazed by the number of people who take photos of their food before eating, usually using their phone. Plus they then spend more time looking at the phone than they spend interacting with the person they are with!
This image is so effective! Love the processing!

It's following only you Vikki. :)
