i shot the sheriff! by summerfield

i shot the sheriff!

and i also got his deputy!

on our drive to illinois, we detoured to holland, michigan where there is a replica of a dutch windmill and little dutch village in a park. but the real intent was to see the Holland Harbor Light known as Big Red, which is located in Ottawa County, Michigan at the entrance of a channel connecting Lake Michigan with Lake Macatawa, and which gives access to the city of Holland, Michigan. (the info courtesy of the pretty @voiceprintz )

i love lighthouses and i wanted to see and shoot this in person. there are so many lighthouses around the coasts of michigan and i will make it a personal project to visit most if not all of them, along with the canadian maritime's lighthouses. this should be my starting point.

thank you for your kind visits and comments; know that they are greatly appreciated. my internet connections in these hotels are so not to my liking - terribly sporadic - so you must forgive me for not getting to yours until i come back home next week and start catching up.

for my friend @kali66 who also shot a sheriff and glad to be spending time together in the slammer for doing so!

and thanks to bill @bill_fe for bringing me here!
Such gorgeous light and tones! This is lovely... Did they wave to you?

I love the light on this. As a teenager, I went to this town with my mother once to visit a Dutch lady who had been Paul Harvey's (radio personality) housekeeper for umpteen years but then retired to Holland, MI.

This is fabulous!! I love lighthouses, too, and if it wasn't for the piers here I would be totally heartbroken that there are no lighthouses to shoot in the vicinity! I might have to wait till I get to the eastern shores to do a series on lighthouses, and who knows maybe we will connect on that venture!! FAV on this red beauty!!
