at the beaches

the scarf got washed away in the lake and only the choo-choo train is left. there was a really big wave and it almost washed away the mound of sand where the train was.

there was an old hag who passed in front of me while i was shooting this, kicked the sand and almost got in my camera and my eyes, and she said, i didn't see you. like i was the only one near the water, and she was about four-feet-ten so it wasn't possible for her to miss what's on the ground. there was an asian family not far from where i was who said that the woman, who was white, kept doing that to the other beach goers who weren't white. i felt sorry for the family. and i realized i've never been discriminated before, or at least i never felt i was.

thank you for your kind visits and comments; know that they are truly appreciated.
@bill_fe - mambo number 5!

Yay- I like that little train! And as I've said to you before the stupidity of the human race can be astronomical at times. Thankfully not all people are like that inconsiderate lady.

@summerfield Awful story about a disgusting woman. Did the scarf really get washed away?
I like this low pov, it makes the waves look huge.

Some people can be like that. You did manage to get a nice shot in still

I feel sorry for that woman who has such unpleasantness in her thoughts that she would never be happy! I like this shot so near the flowing waves and the wee pop of red!

Sounds like old hag is the perfect description for her, maybe you should add grumpy to it. Looks like the train had a rather close call, sorry about the scarf.

Lovely shot, beautiful focus. Old hag is too kind, I could think of a name or two. Cx

So sorry that you had to endure that kind of treatment. Small minds small people. Nice capture with the little red choo choo train.

@bill_fe - it did, but a boy rescued it so it was all wet and sandy and i didn't touch it until i was ready to leave as i didn't want my camera to get wet or get sand on it.

On behalf of the human race, I apologize to you! Unfortunately the world is filled with people and attitudes like that. Children are not born with hatred and prejudice, they are taught to be that way.
Fortunately there are more good people than evil in the world. And I agree with Claire about the name old hag for her. I can also think of a few others. I'm sure that's the way she was raised. Very unfortunate. Ok, I will get off my soapbox.
Anyway, I love this shot and the little red train engine just adds a delightful touch. Fav!

I love the pic and the little red train, thank goodness it was rescued. The "hag"?.. let her go hang, her world is not a place we want to live in (or even visit) She is to be pitied .... look what she loses by her narrow mind.

good dof and composition

As your get-pushed partner this week (161), I would like you to try either:
1, A yin yang photo or diptych showing yin yang
or
2. A night time photo were a candle is the only light source

Love that train.

I love this composition with the well lit cloud in the sky and the water gently threatening the choo choo!

Without the old hags of the world we can't treasure the people who aren't. Sorry you had to deal with it! ♥

the absurdity of harassing someone doing something so innocuous as photographing a toy train is...well, I'm speechless.

I also meant to say that I was happy you made it to beach!
