sunday morning we went early to casa loma, toronto's historic castle. not a lot of tourists but there was already two big tourist buses when we arrived, luckily one came so early they were already departing when we arrived. still it wasn't so bad.
at the library, a nook was large enough for a round table of 8; the table was set up in formal mid-morning meal - luncheon plates on chargers, stemwares of different sizes, silver cutlery and tea sets, complete with a vase of large fresh sunflowers, on white damask table cloth with matching napkins. when i started to shoot, i thought i might have found my 'artistic metal' shot for this week's 52-week challenge. boy, did i have a ball. while bill was somewhere in the north part of the castle, i was just ensconced in the library by this table setting.
took so many pictures of probable posts for the challenge that i decided i will have an artistic metal theme for this week
thank you for your kind visits and comments; know that i greatly appreciate them all.
...and I'm sure you saw the similarity in the way we entertained you when you came to the Manor...
what a life that was! Imagine! I confess that I'd love to dine at a table set up like this, but I don't want to dress so formally as to be uncomfortable!
Love this beautiful photo and I don't want top miss the rest you have to share! The pace is about to pick up here, but I'll check back in as I can!
I agree with all of the DoF comments. Great application of the camera's abilities. I keep trying to tell all of the morons who claim they can take great shots with their phone camera that they can't do this!
Stunning. For me it's not just the lovely focus or even the delicate bokeh, it's where the focus is concentrated that makes it so good. The forks and the edge of the napkin, and the degree of off focus you've got on the rest that achieves such success. Big FAV, sum.
