" Hatred, for the man who is not engaged in it, is a little like the odor of garlic for one who hasn't eaten any." - Jean Rostand, a French experimental biologist and philosopher
this is for the new mundane challenge, the mundane object this go-round is 'garlic'.
in the old country, garlic has a lot of culinary uses, and other non-culinary ones including warding off ghouls and vampires. in the rural areas, when there's a pregnant woman in the house, bulbs of garlic are hung at the windows and doors. not only that, a small pouch is filled with garlic cloves and the woman wears it like a necklace.
and no, it's not true that when you don't want to go to school and you want to pretend you have fever, putting crushed garlic in your armpits does not make you have a high temperature. no, it's not true. trust me. :-P
Looks like someone may have experience with trying to skip school with garlic. Haha. This is a great shot of it. I like the close-up composition in black and white.
(are you going to post any of the umbrella shots?)
