i finally convinced myself this morning that i should get myself out of my stupor and do things that are far more, say what's the term - productive? photographic? purposeful? of course the very depressing weather we had all day yesterday wasn't of much help. but i did write 3,000 words and read two and a half books.
this is not even close to a morandi but i have similar props that i forced myself to gather to create one in his style. in my first few shots there were more vases and bowls but looking at the other entries, everyone's done a good job already (good luck, @kali66; that's going to be one tough job for you) so i thought i'd just shoot one my way. the lighting isn't even like morandi's but i am quite happy with this. processed this in pse with vintage plate 2 in silverfx whatever that is called (thanks to @grammyn katy for convincing me to download the program and to bill @bill_fe for guiding me with the set up).
now, let's see if i can do a seven deadly sin selfie.
oh, did i tell you, i have a new gig reviewing new books that are about to get published? i got paid $40 for one that's coming out next month. unfortunately, i can't divulge the title and author as this is yet to get launched. i am paid whether they use my review or not, and whether i give a negative or positive review. this was for a 400-page book. not bad, eh?
Interesting narrative and composition. I really like the light coming in from the corner. It has been a fascinating challenge and great to see everyone's interpretations.
I think it is very Morandi like especially on black. The Antique Plate 2 processing from silver efex was a perfect choice to use for the subject and I am so glad you used it. Congratulations on the review gig too
Very cool shot, but see I like the fact that it's not like your typical morandi... after all it's your interpretation of it. Beautiful. Love that you do that about new books - how cool!
