"Proprioception or Kinesthetic System refers to the perception of sensation of the muscles and joints enabling the brain to know where each part of the body is and how it is moving. Proprioception was developed by the nervous system as a means to keep track of and control the different parts of the body, using feedback from the movement of joints and muscles. It allows us to know where the edges of our body are – how far away we are from a wall, or how much pressure we are exerting on a pencil."
remember the old sobriety tests? the one-leg stand, the walk-and-turn, and the HGN (the eye test). when alcohol affects the brain, the body's coordination when given the sobriety tests go haywire. although i knew of one person who could gulp down a barrel of whiskey and still passed those three tests. okay, not a barrel, a case then.
still having dry coughing fits but feeling better. murphy's law says i should be ready for work on tuesday. and when i see that murphy, i'm going to kick the bastard in his cojones!
Hoo wee, looks like one heck of a party! Going for a little hair of the dog, I see.
Interesting biological information on the body's function. I've heard that in addition to proprioception enabling one's brain to know where body parts are and how they're moving, your Golgi tendons provide information on parameters such as force and effort needed. For instance, how far to bend over to reach the bottle and providing the dexterity allowing one to pick up said bottle to pour another sip of the elixir one might have enjoyed while welcoming the new year.
Looks like you had a great party! Murphy is not a popular fella at the moment.
Thanks for the added info Ron. My brain is now suitably addled 🙄 @stray_shooter
When I was a student, I would reliably get sick when the holiday happened. I decided finally that I just didn't have time to be sick during the term... Nice set of props for the props discussion. Did I say Happy New Year yet??? Happy New Year.
