for this week's get-pushed challenge. set by sally @salza, she wanted me to "[take] something from the kitchen and photographing it in an unusual or unique manner". is this unusual? peut-être.
in my household, the only mirror is the bathroom mirror. my handheld mirror is ensconced in my bedroom, one of my very first purchases when i worked in muscat, oman, so i dare not use it when i need a handheld mirror when i shoot my selfies. so i've resorted to using the lid of my 6-quart pot. it does the job and if i drop it (accidentally, of course) i don't have to worry about bits and pieces scattering around the studio. the one worry would be if it hits my feet or leg or knee, it would really hurt. then there would be no selfie!
over at five plus two, we are playing with pots and pans. so selfie yourself anyhow you want with your pots and pans and tag it fivepluswo-potsandpans. come on, it'll be fun!
Very McGyveresque of you. I'm a bit curious about your intention with the highlighter. Is that in lieu of lipstick? (You know the whole avoiding the bathroom thing)

The logistics of setting this up to get such a fabulous image make my mind rattle. A very clever concept and executed magnificently. Terrific selfie for the challenges.
you now have everyone wondering about that marker. love it. but i am so very curious about your mirror from oman. now it is a 'must-see'. is it very intricate, very delicate, very expensive? my mind obviously is reeling.
@30pics4jackiesdiamond - i have an old broken tripod that i use as my stand in so i can focus where my face or the object should be. i then put a sticky or a coloured tape on the floor to mark where exactly i should stand. this after i set my timer to 10 seconds or the remote shutter. i took about 25 shots and only 3 weren't blurry. thank you.
LOL I thought it was a magic marker too- like you were going to draw a pink smiley face on the lid to be your reflection. Sometimes my brain is just too funny in the way it reasons things out.
