in the sleepy town of san juanita
there's a story that a padre tells
of a gay señor and señorita
and the serenade of the bells
seemed they asked the padre for permission
to be married early in the spring
but their folks had asked just one condition
that the mission bells had to ring
everyone knew the bells were broken
and hadn't sounded for a long long time
then one night the whole town was astounded
for the bells began to ring
still the bells were broken goes the story
but if in your heart a true love dwells
they will ring for you in all its glory
that's the serenade of the bells

i learned to play that song on the guitar when i was in high school. my friends and i sang it in a faster tempo than the officially published or recorded versions. we would practice with our friend rosaida who sang it in a competition and she kicked asses with her singing and guitar playing. sadly she has since abandoned guitar playing for karaoke.
i can't find my photo props and i'm lazy to open boxes and sort out my stuff. i need to re-position my book shelves in another part of the living room but my body is just too beat up now to do any more moving or lifting and sorting. i want to give my body a rest as i could feel an insistent throbbing on my lower back.
What a sweet, wedding-toned image of the bells to go with the song! I loved that song as well...so long ago now!!! Take care of yourself and settle in slowly! What's the rush? It won't go faster if you injure yourself...I know!
Slow and steady wins the race! One day at a time will get the job done and you still able to enjoy life
