week 28 of the 52 portraits of me project. the prompt for this week is "glamour".
my friend connie who gave me this challenge told me that i needed to show some "skin". so i checked on the glamour shots of the old hollywood stars but i got so intimidated and the newer glamour girls were all in different state of undress and i got more intimidated.
but a challenge is a challenge and the remaining lurkers are both experiencing life crisis (their own undoing, mind), i thought i'd show i can be a little bit daring - just a little bit though, and get the lurkers to really rue the fact that they don't have me anymore, and as a result i look 'good' hahaha!
glamour shots, it seems, from what i've observed in my research, call for loads and loads of makeup, pretty clothes (or sometimes none at all), and jewelry.
well, i got plenty of props, future payment for my future models. no question, i will keep my clothes on, thank you very much. and i can only tolerate a moderate amount of makeup. that said, i came up with this, after 50-some trial shots. i could go on and on, but my earlobes were on fire (those things are damned heavy), and i was sweating like a dog, and i refuse to re-do makeup. and really, i'm so hungry i didn't realize i've been at this for more than three hours. that's the outside of enough and off i go to bed.
Well this is impressive in so many ways. Three hours is beyond the call of dedication, but you are looking great and have risen to the challenge in the best way possible. Excellent portrait - I don't know how you do it.
You have absolutely created a beautiful portrait and nailed the lighting and the pose. That much more impressive knowing it is a self-portrait. Fav for me...you always inspire me.
