...and there they go! by summerfield

...and there they go!

my sister and i went early to the dragon boat race. methinks i found a new haunt for sunday mornings, except of course when it's extremely cold in the winter.

i don't know where that tree in the middle came from. i must admit i was bent on getting my horizon straight (at which as you can see i failed miserably) and the boats were passing by the frame rather fast. i am convinced that it's not a real tree but a human masquerading as a tree and was walking up and down the edge of the water just to piss me off as well as the other photographers. well, that's my story.

i also did not notice that the pavement raised itself to get into my frame as well as that light standard which i would excuse (the light standard) because i actually thought that it added some character into the shot. again, that's my story and i'm sticking to it.

my sister explored the grounds so i was able to get to this point of the race. else you'd have been presented with a butterfly on a purple flower shot.

i just realized that i need to bring the camera to clean whatever it is that needs cleaning. that little dot is driving me crazy!
Nice to hear you have a sister to walk with. There must be a large number of dragons around to have so many boats!

A beautiful composition in spite of the masquerading tree which actually adds a nice pop of color

@maggiemae - my sister claims she does not have a drop of artistic anything in her body. she can be found in church most mornings if she's not on a pilgrimage or something, which is too bad because she only takes a shot or two and that's it for her. thank you, maggiemae.

@grammyn - it's amazing I've lasted this long. i'm having withdrawal symptoms! thank you, girlfriend.

An interesting place to go to see all sorts of new things. This is a nice shot of events on a sunny day.
