it's frozen lake view for this day as it is all i have to offer. but as you can see there's quite a cloud play happening over the lake. the boss didn't leave for lunch soon enough as that was when the clouds were in full mighty display and looking at them seemed surreal. luckily for the humans of downtown toronto the fog stayed over the lake and but didn't dissipate until later in the afternoon.
yesterday, that part of the lake just beyond the second strip of the island was all water. with the overnight temps reaching much lower than -21 thin sheets of ice formed. the water nearer the city was already frozen and saw an icebreaker hawing a path for the ferries.
one time i tried to take pictures of the lake while the boss was in his office. asked me "what the hell are you doing?" and i answered "taking a photo of the lake so that someday when i visit you in a home i will show it to you and you will say you don't remember it and i will say it's because you never looked at the view you were so privileged to have. and then you will thank me for having taken a photograph." he continued to work on his computer but told me as i left "thank you."
i think most times people don't understand why we take photos of things. i mean, you have to do it to understand it, n'est-ce pas?
thank you for your kind visits and comments, as well as your very generous favs on the two spoon shots - know that they are greatly appreciated.
@northy - the view was much more dramatic than this an hour earlier but of course i couldn't disturb the boss or being told i was goofing off, although i was. hahaha. i tried frozen bubbles this morning and i got frozen before the bubbles and i wasn't out more than 3 minutes. wonder if it's better nearer the ground?
Perhaps you could offer to take the view so as to frame and put in the conference room (or whatever) to show off to your clients. Then he might be more approving. I love your narrative and the scene looks tremendous - I am fascinated by that huge icy lake.
Oooh, I was quaking when I read what you said to your Boss, you obviously have a good working relationship! But what you say is so true, you never know what tomorrow may bring, so if you see the picture/photo today, take it - before it's too late.
@jackie8 - my boss is the kindest person i've ever met, i've worked for him for nearly 20 years, and those who had worked with him for longer say he's a teddy bear. the lawyers he's trained over the years have so much respect for him. he's tough as a lawyer and always gets the best and more for his clients, one of the best around here but he keeps a low profile. his clients love him. he's very family oriented and stresses to the younger lawyers the importance of family in their profession. that's why when he retires, i will also retire because i know there won't be another boss like him and i wouldn't want to take crap from anyone else anymore.
Love the cold clouds over the lake - we are getting them over the St. Lawrence but it is almost completely frozen here now so those clouds are disappearing.
Remind me to give you a call if I ever need a good lawyer - he sounds wonderful!
Looking forwards to frozen bubbles Ms S!!!!!!!!!!!!
