i found an old magazine in one of my bookshelves. actually, make that four magazines. one of them i haven't even read yet. that's because i seldom buy a magazine these days, but when i do, another magazine would interest me and another one and i buy them all because i know in another two, three weeks' time they'd be gone. then i would set them aside and read only the one that really gets me interested in. then life happens and i forget about them. until five or ten years later. :-P
i used to have subscriptions for cross stitch australia, canadian geographic and psychology today. the cross stitch magazine i have accumulated were sent to the old country because those were a premium over there. the canadian geographic was bought by a collector as the publisher ceased its operations. i still read psychology today but i would just buy it at the stands when a topic interests me. otherwise, with all the books i have to review, i haven't any time for reading anything else.
I am a bit the same as you. I have a magazine on my desk that I purchased at Christmas that I have only half read. Lucky you had a few extras lying around so you could participate in the challenge.
A terrific two-fer! I used to hoard magazines so my children could see what life was like before they were born but moving more than once or twice has a way of dealing with that clutter!
I'm a sucker for magazines, too! loved Psychology Today and my needlework magazines! I also had (too many) subscriptions! I'd leaf through some and save pages...now we have Pinterest and they're not nearly so necessary, but now I like the more expensive issues...Christmas and any good recipes (because I like to be inspired by what I come across in them!) Maybe they're not so mundane after all!
Reading a magazine still feels like a special treat to me. Your pic has so many pleasant associations with it, and brings good memories, too. A good feeling!
I like this one. It has a lovely balance to it. After my clear out, I will be hard pressed to put my finger on a magazine - all the magazines which I had kept for recipes have gone, and there is not a lot else. Will have to hunt around.
