all week, i've been frequenting all the busy intersections i know and there was only one purple/violet car i saw. and it drove away from me without me taking a photo. why? because i was eating ice cream (non-dairy) and the camera was inside my backpack. what kind of luck is that? good thing i like to hedge. this car i saw last week when my sister brought me to a new vegetarian restaurant and as fate would have it, the restaurant was closed for that day but this car was parked in front of it. it was a loud pink yet i took a few shots. so after an indeterminate amount of etsooi i got to the colour i want. and there you have it.
in my little blue post last night, i originally mentioned that the pick up truck was a chrysler. i was of course very wrong and this i found out after lou ann @louannwarren mentioned chevrolet and ford. i am usually rather thorough with the facts i write on my blurbs but last night i was sluggish, sloppy and sleepy and i didn't bother to check. sorry for that. but after examining images on google and a giant book in my shelf called 'american cars and trucks' the unmistakable 'ford' lines and shape confirmed it is a mid-70's ford pick up.
this purple car? i don't know what it is, as all car companies seem to have the same shape of cars these days. they all have the same colours, and they're all very light and the doors when you close them, would have this tinny sound. in college, i used to be able to ID all cars' brands and model. now, unless it's an old mustang or thunderbird or beetle, i just think 'car'.

Amazing! What patience you have. This week looks so cool. Who cares what make and model they are? (You, obviously...) But your commentary takes me back to my undergraduate college days when I was dating a guy studying airplane mechanics at the Kansas Technical Institute. My friend went out sometimes with his buddy and all the two guys seemed to talk about were cars etc. I spent part of the summer between my freshman and sophomore years trying to learn to recognize car models by their rear end. I finally came to the realization that I was wasting my time. I didn't give a you-know-what about what kind of cars they were. Eventually I also realized I the guy and I were not made for each other.
I hope it was a good ice-cream! Trust you to have a back up option - looks like toy car shape to me. Well, that is another great week of colours which you appear to put on effortlessly. I wonder what next week will bring ....
