another shot from the allen gardens. the 'model' in yesterday's post recognized me on the train this morning. turns out he lives near my apartment building. he and his friends are taking up photography at the local college and they were practicing with their 'new' cameras and that they were taking turn as each other's subject and learning portrait composition. they want to be professional photographers and are planning on setting up a photography business when they have gained substantial experience. he asked how they can do that. i told him that they should go to the local charity event organizers and offer their services for free until they're ready for paid gigs. he was rather happy with that suggestion. they're already building their own website, too.
speaking of new cameras, i just bought me a new lens, a 14-85mm canon. it came with a camera.

Well there's a pipe dream if I ever saw one. Sorry- just had to get that out of my system. They do look rather artistic and the story about the young photographers was a fun read.
