one of the assignments this week for emma davies' 30 days of composition.
i have nothing else but this was taken yesterday when my sister and i were walking along the danforth to find letters for the 52-week challenge.
i was going to use this for one of my letters but i accidentally (really, i did!) cropped it into a square (don't ask me how i did it, it just happened and i couldn't salvage it back, or perhaps, i didn't want to).
and i was thinking why do i have to subject meself to all these challenges. well, the reason for that thinking is because i am struggling with the prompts. for example the square format prompt. i only do square format from post and only for the album cover. so i am finding it strange that this is square and it's not an album cover. (btw, where is that album cover challenge?)
plus the bee was rather looking nice, although i almost squashed it when it landed on my hand as i was taking a photo of this lavender stalk. it's a stretch but i am temporarily tagging this for this week's technical category of the 52-week challenge which is "wild life", as i don't know if i ever will catch a bird in flight or ever see any wild life. i am not too keen on going somewhere to catch a wild life, but i might encounter one that's not a lawyer or paralegal. hahahaha! i'll be in trouble at work when they read this! maybe the northster and i can swing by a zoo or thereabouts. otherwise it will be just the ducks at any of the parks.
You have managed to get great details on this bee - I always struggle with bee shots. (They always turn out to be BUMble bee shots with the emphasis on the bum!)
As for the album cover challenge - I am on that and hope to see it rejuvenated in a couple of days.
I am quite fond of the square format (and it works well in my card making). As usual, you are covering many objectives with the one image - Im always impressed as I tend to be more the other way around! Good to see the bee with wings wide. and I look forward in anticipation to your word.
I am totally impressed that you "accidentally" cropped to square. When I try to do that because I have forgotten to change formats in my camera I struggle with getting it exact. Very impressive or as a good and dear friend says ACES!
As for the album cover challenge - I am on that and hope to see it rejuvenated in a couple of days.
Beautiful subject, detail and composition too!
