20 years ago, when i studied hospitality management at the local college, one of our assignments in marketing was to present a hotel proposal which would include a fine dining restaurant. i was paired off with this young chinese girl who was a whiz with numbers and statistics.
one of my tasks was to look into fine dining restaurants from which we could model our hotel's fine dining venue. one resto was willing to show us their books on the condition that we would go to a competition to get the same data as we were looking at, and the only thing we could do was to either get an interview with the manager or work there. so we applied for a waitressing job. the young girl ended up on the floor while i got stuck in the bar. we found out that there was a lot of cheating the bartender was showing us -- from pilfering to adulterating the booze. not to mention the giving of free drinks to their mates who patronized the restaurant. we were going to report it to manager but it turned out the manager was on it, too.
we didn't go back to our model restaurant because the information we got was more than we needed. when we were defending our report to the faculty, we were told that we would make the perfect industrial spy by the way we were able to extract information and more. our marketing teacher, however, had to report the pilfering and adulterating to the police.
Very interesting. So now we find out about your alter-ego as a spy. Very creative way to get your information for your report. Unfortunately, I think what you discovered is probably wide spread. I love your photo. Is it an outdoor cafe, or a combination of pictures?
Such a clever way to photograph this restaurant. It has a great story to go with it (when do your photos not?) and has garnered a FAV from me for its uniqueness
@henrir - no, it's the interior of a restaurant. i had the lens just a few millimeters from the glass that's why there are reflections of the buildings and the park behind me, as well as part of the cathedral on the upper left.
