as long as i have my mobile by summerfield

as long as i have my mobile

who cares about anything else?

everywhere i turn, people's faces are glued on their mobile. on the train, majority of people are fiddling with their kindle, kobo, iPhone, the Galaxy on the bus there's always a couple of people who would talk so loud and it's especially bad when the voice grates on you like a steel brush being drag across a metal surface.

what i've noticed though. majority of those people whose mobiles are attached to their faces, are only playing games. they're so engrossed in their mobile they don't even look where they're going, they bumped on people, without so much as an apology. if you engage them, of course, it always ends up badly for you.

i reckon the next generations will have a lot of illness related to hearing, walking and blindness.
terrific candid!

A great candid capture. Someone quoted that the next generation will be one of idiots ;-)

Wonderful candid. Rusted-on mobiles? I just don't get it. There's a whole big world out there.

Great candid photo. I think it is an escape for them. And they have not learned to be social. I love meeting new people and talking too much to try to walk and look at a phone..not possible for me.

When i look at the street pictures here on 365 there are always a lot of people who have their phone ready in their hands, or like you said, stare at the screen... People pass others looking at their phone, no time or manners to simply say hello... See 4 or 5 people stand in a group and all looking or using their phone in some way, also seen very often in a restaurant, 2 people at a table both talking to otherpersons using a phone??? or telling friends on their phone they are having a great time in the restaurant???... so weird... and for the picture... great image with even a better story with it...

It is a great shot - and illustrates your point well. I heard on the radio recently something about introducing phone walking lanes in streets, for people who are not looking where they are going. I walked into a ladder hanging off the back of a van yesterday - but I promise I wasn't looking at my phone!

a commentary after my own heart and a fantastic illustration to accompany it!

Great candid and yes, I agree with everything you have said. I also think, if evolution turned out to be true, the next generation will have an extra thumb for all that phone scrolling......

@helenhall That will never work- they would have to watch the lines of the phone lane to stay within it and they're already glued to the phone screen!

It's pretty crazy to see people constantly on their phones. I was just reading somewhere that no one takes any "down time" now- that is time to just sit and let your mind wander. It's killing our imagination. Good catch!

cool street shot! it is the realities of our world. On the street only photographers go with their eyes wide open. Photographers make photos, which then these people see in their phones.
