it's only for fools
so play by the rules
don't gamble with love
...
you can gamble your house
gamble your car
gamble your hopes
just as far as the stars up above
but don't you gamble with love...
- paul anka
not exactly how i had envisioned today's flash of red but demands of reality called life, more specifically work, was so great today that i had no time to contemplate the shot properly. i arrived home so late it was the next day already and i was exhausted i couldn't bring myself to haul out the laptop. but needs must and the show must go on, as they say, so this is what i have to offer. i might revisit this in the future. or maybe not.
for the flash of red
also for the songtitle challenge
and for the technique challenge (low key, selective colour, one light lighting)
and also the february words
and for week 7 of the 52-week challenge, a story telling about love. i think this pretty much tells the story, doesn't it?
i can name two other challenges but that would be bordering on greedy, or they might have expired.
and then i remember some things from playing black jack - correct me if i got it wrong as i am going by memory, although i could have googled it, only i am pressed for time.
you can split when you get a double ace (and other players can put bets on your splits, too). you "stay" when you're at 17 or 18 (the total of your cards). you "hit" (draw a new card) when you're at below 13, if you want. your five cards must total 21 or, in any case, beat the dealer's hand. heck, if i'm wrong don't let me go to any casino. and remember, your cameras are not welcome on the casino's gambling floors!
ah! the song title. here's an oldie from when the world was young and beautiful and no one throws chairs out the windows of a highrise purely from peer pressure (and don't get me started on that!).
