i had wanted to do this during the flash of red challenge in february but i kept forgetting to borrow this prop. i plucked this from the credenza of my officemate donna beth and i have to bring it back tomorrow.
i had hoped to project the shadow on the wall so that it dwarfed the prop but all attempts failed as the shadows were blurry. peut-être i wasn't doing things right but i'm not feeling artistic or clever i had to settle for this. i exhausted my knowledge of spoken french this afternoon as a couple from france stopped me to ask for directions to go to a place where no one knows where. their english was very limited and my brain had to work real hard to make them understand me. i just hope i didn't send them to a whorehouse or jail. then my french would be all for naught! :-P
and would you believe there is a song called "a shadow of hope" by RDuo. i must say never heard of the song, never heard of the band. i was thinking maybe i should write a press release for them here on 365. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fnA1M-QwiX8
I think it came across great. Love the shadow. Google Translate App can really come through in a pinch if you have to speak to someone in another language.
Love the way you've done this Vikki. Your narrative reminds me that I should be brushing up on my mostly forgotten French, in preparation for our upcoming trip to Canada.
I think if you'd been able to figure out how to achieve your original idea it would have looked great. This is a good alternative though! Yes, the band could use some of your PR work- as well as one of your pictures on their album cover!
How serendipitous of you to find this song! Perfect for this picture. I think it turned out well the way you composed it even if it wasn’t what you first envisioned
*bopping my head to the song*
