the art of the cafeteria by summerfield

the art of the cafeteria

this is a painting of a pyramid-like structure and the painting is called "cafeteria at the heydar aliev centre, gobuztan, azerbaijan". the back of this painting is the half photo from yesterday's post. once again, i shot it so that half of the frame has the old building as its half.

nah, i won't confuse you as i can't think straight. after the fever i have a really bad back ache that could only be alleviated by me slumping on a chair. then i have to get ready as my friend in germany is visiting toronto and since i could not offer for her to stay with me, i have booked a hotel room downtown tomorrow, friday, so we can chat to our hearts' content until saturday afternoon when she goes back with her daughter to ohio. i just hope my ear infection (that's why the fever) does not become vertigo.

oooh! hotel selfies! now that's something i haven't seen around here since @bobfoto jason daniels left 365.
I think I understand now... well. Maybeeeeee.

Not sure I get it, this is a wonderful image though. Hope you feel better and have a great time with your friend.

Like the image, don’t get the explanation I’m afraid ... but the image stays, right 😉?

cool image, and I do get the explanation as it's something I'd do - hope that the ear infection doesn't stop you meeting up with your friend

I just discover your may half theme : love it ! The illusion of a collage is perfect and we have to stare at it to realize it is a single photo !

This is an awesome half-and-half photo! Apparently being under the weather does not diminish your creative skills! Sorry to hear you have not been feeling well. And I too hope it does not develop into vertigo for you.

@momamo might know this building first hand!

I'm intrigued by this exhibition. Is it undercover or open to the elements? This makes a great h&h :)

@merrelyn - it is inside the concourse/promenade of brookfield place. see https://365project.org/summerfield/365-still/2018-02-07 part of the complex is a smaller building which was designated as "heritage" building which means it had to be preserved so it was made part of the concourse/promenade.
