in desperation for a half and half shot, i did an exercise that i haven't done in a long while. ann @olivetreeann and alia @alia_801 devised this exercise back eight or seven years ago where you go inside a room in your house, look around for no more than 15 seconds and get a shot for the day. that's what i did and this was the only thing that appealed to me because everything else in my living room is either books of walls. these two happened to be on top of the deep freezer, i just placed the camera in an angle to get half of each on the frame and le voilà! instant half and half.
i should like to tag this, too, for week 18 of the 52-week challenge which is "Weight or Mass
Heavy as a stone, light as a feather. Find inspiration and shoot an amazing photograph." the crystal vase is a little bit over a foot and made of heavy lead crystal. i got it from an old flower shop that was getting their inventory cleared. and the glittery thing is a gift bag and is made of lightweight paper. that's my interpretation of the challenge. if it's wrong then at least i have a half/half shot. it's not an amazing photo either but it's still a half/half shot. that's my story and i'm sticking to it!
The colour is so bright and cheerful. I remember that exercise. I should do it as it will force me to pick up my camera. My mojo seems to have disappeared.
This is cool - that Dogwood challenge was so difficult - I could think of staged shots, but would have had to have the time and facilities to set them up more than I did - someone on the seesaw surrounded by feathers - a feather being held down by a rock enough to flutter in the wind. Would have worked on the beach.
