the gull perches calmly facing the elements
the gale-force gusts of the unrelenting wind
the angry spray from the water's movements
the menacing roar of the unforgiving waves
it does not move, it does not mind
it sits there -- unruffled, unshaken and unperturbed.
my phojo may be awol but boy, i never knew i could whip up a poem just like that.
yesterday at church, the pianist played a classic i was so sure it was a chopin when my friend asked me if i knew the music. there was a song in the 1950's that was adapted to the music called "my serenade" which was sung by the platters. last night i googled it and to my horror, i was utterly and shamefully WRONG! it wasn't a chopin; it was schubert! and i found quite a number of versions but i liked this one best. have a listen.
for the monthly theme of movement. i thought my camera's lens was dirty, turned out it was the water's spray i caught in action, if you look closely. this time last year, i was standing at the very end of this jetty, way past that rock where the bird is perched. these days the beach spaces are at a premium as there is less space. hope it changes in the summer.

just a reminder about the current song title challenge going on. join in and put in an entry...or two...even three! here's the low down.
Still having goosebumps, as it is one of my favourite classics. A stunning capture of the elements and a Gull on watch. Your narrative is very entertaining as usual too .
