another shot from last monday. this one fits the bill for today's prompt for the one week only challenge, which is silhouette. this is a red-winged blackbird which stayed put long enough for me to get a couple of shots.
tomorrow's prompt is 'vintage photography'. you'd want to pull out your old pantyhose or stockings for the shot, or any flimsy garment or fabric you have. the vaseline on lens is good, too, but i wouldn't recommend it, unless you apply the vaseline on a small plastic wrap then carefully attach it to your lens with the use of an elastic. careful not to get the gak on your camera.
did i do a good deed today? yes, i did. i always let folks with walkers or canes or strollers to go through the door or elevator. this morning a lady about my age roughly, got inside the elevator and she punched the buttons and i said "thank you." she turned to me with a surprise look on her face and said "you're welcome. i'm so glad there are still some of us who knows how to say thank you."
i think schools should include good manners and right conduct as a sub-topic in social studies. i was told that it is the parents' responsibilities to teach their children how to behave politely in society. but what if the parents themselves don't know social graces?
I love the song of the Red-winged Black Bird. They're not around here much because we're in the woods and they like more open spots like fields. Nice silhouette! (I have seen children who are better-mannered than their parents- and I'm sure they've learned it at school- certainly not from home!)
Well done!
