sawed off! by summerfield

sawed off!

week 6 of the 52-week challenge calls for photos of or with texture. continuing with the flash of red's nature forms this week, i chose this photo of an old tree outside of the allen gardens. apparently the large branch was sawed off because there was some decay happening on that branch and once investigated and found out that the problem was limited to that large branch, it was sawed off to protect the rest of the tree.
Like all the contrasts -- textures, nature and the building beyond, tone.

When they trim the trees like this it always looks so drastic- but I'd rather see one branch come off than a whole tree come down. Good shot!

Cool textures. Nice find. I agree with Ann, much better this than potentially having to cut down the whole tree.

What an unusual look at this tree trunk. It is so shiny and dark it hardly looks real. Nicely captured.

Happy thy could save the tree! I like the contrast of the sawed section and the tree bark texture!
