today's prompt is "spoons". i had something really clever in mind that involved a spoon or two but it proved too much for my old brain. nothing worked for me today, even with work. the darn system was slower than molasses and would freeze on me in the middle of discussion; i'd fish out a document and the system would just crash. in the end, i settled for the fast, easy and mundane shot of spoon reflections. but, see, the bokeh's rich, ain't it?
in chatting with some of my office mates, it might be a while before we go back to working at the office. if we do, they are seriously considering a staggered attendance to ensure the two-metre social distancing required. they're also considering to make people stay in their floors. most people are afraid to come back because they're afraid of public commutes, which is understandable. they're also considering that those with weakened immune systems continue to work from home as well as the elderly or those over 60. i told our HR person that i have a very strong constitution and that i can come to work even for 3 days of the week.
last night, however, it occurred to me that the lockdown would have provided me a perfect opportunity to write a novel and if i had started when the lockdown started, i could probably have finished a first draft by now. the problem is my notes and preliminary drafts are somewhere in a box in my spare room, but i don't know which box. i could've also used the time to organize those boxes. the other problem i have is that i feel like cheating if i do something personal during business hours, even though most days, i start work a lot earlier than my office time and still work later, especially when something urgent comes up.
the usual could've, would've, should've, but actually didn't!
I noticed the bokeh right off! Ah, the COVID uincertainities with respect to work~!
I am with @30pics4jackiesdiamond about the spoons. An excellent offering today!
"the usual could've, would've, should've, but actually didn't!" Oh I so identify. I bet there are things that you have done though. And this is a spectacular spoon photo. Really love the patterns and the bokeh.
