er...ah...mr. rocket man, what happened to your left foot!
saw this last friday when i was plying about the mall looking for a store that sells specialized batteries. (it's for my camera's remote control, what are you about!) passing by a mobile provider store, telus might have been or bell, they have this "astronaut" on display at the entrance. that got a double take from me and backpedalled to check him out. i was told no big cameras allowed so i had to use my iPhone. i got a kick about his missing foot and his boot looked like a grandpa slipper. no doubt this guy's going to make another appearance next time i do a composite. when that may be is another matter.
i'd like to thank you, beautiful people, for your feedbacks and suggestions on my very first foray into painting. i am considering them all and we'll see what happens next. i have at least satisfied that nagging itch that i could do something i never thought i could. i think all of us, when we set our minds to it, we can do anything. except of course travelling in space. but staring in space with the mouth agape and the eyes blank doesn't count. or maybe it does.
Well done!
I am always amusedthat big cameras are not allowed, as if they take a particularly invasive type of photo that a camer phone can't! You put uour srtistic skills to good use with this one! (love the feet! ........or lack of!)
The left foot was the first thing that popped to me as well...
still, why no big cameras? do they suck the air around? if they are in the mobile business, they should know that some phones have a really good performance these days, and are more cameras than phones.
l.e.I just read the comment above from @grammyn ....
Tha't my point too.
@grammyn@monikozi - no big cameras: not the store's policy but the mall's. apparently there are a lot of people complaining that people are taking pictures and invading their privacy while shopping. really? i asked the security guard. i think that those are the very same people who would take selfies around the mall and posting them online notwithstanding that there are "private" citizens in the background, or probably a one in a thousand people in the mall who's not tinkering with his or her mobile.
Fantastic and interesting capture. What a find. Yes, it always puzzles me how how my "big camera" is questioned or not allowed when so many around me are taking photos of the exact same things with their phones without any concern expressed.
Well now we know what happens when you get "your foot in the door". Poor Rocket Man! I guess the mall complainers don't realize that most cell phones can now come pretty close to what a "big camera" can do. And, yes, I think you are right- those same people probably snap a million selfies never thinking twice about who's in the background. He'll be a great addition to your composite work!
