come and sit for a while by summerfield

come and sit for a while

i hauled my fat arse out of the apartment and walked around the neighbourhood, and took in the fresh air and used my camera like i used to do. mostly i took photos of snow and ice laden branches to study them later. it was only -4 degrees so i had on only a long-sleeved sweater and a heavily padded winter vest. it took a good 45 minutes before i felt the chilly air and that's when i decided to go back home.

the snow that started yesterday had gone icy overnight and then fresh snow came during the early morning hours. so i was walking on snow on ice and it was a little bit tricky. smart of me to wear my rain boots which had very good traction. not so smart that i didn't wear socks and when i got back, my two baby toes were painful and itchy which was a sign of an impending frost bite. i had to soak my feet in warm water and whilst doing so, i was muttering all curses to high heavens for such stupidity. otherwise i'm fine. 😜

it's been a while since i took more than 200 photos in one walk. it will be snow and ice scenes for the rest of the week.
I will if you do!! Lovely scene even if it is a bit chilly! Now YOU have the cold and I was out without a coat today!

This has such a normal look to it -- the empty areas explained by the weather. Well done!

-4??!! That's horrible! But what a fabulous firsst snowy scene here. Beautiful
November 24th, 2020
@30pics4jackiesdiamond - minus 4 is nothing. i used to go around in -15 with sunshine and no wind in just sweater. it's the wind chill you need to worry about. my second winter here i experienced -25 and with the wind chill factor, it felt like -40 and i couldn't move my feet and legs. started to wear leggings then.

First of all, -4 degrees?! That is way too frickin' cold whether in Cel or Far. Good gawd, woman. Bundle up!!

Nice snow scene ! Hope you feel warm now !

Boots without socks?! The cold is bad enough, but the rubbing! I want you to put a sticky note by the door that says, "Did you put your socks on?" Right now! I mean it Missy! You have enough to deal with without adding frostbite to the list. (o: Nice shot. Now go put that sticky note by the door.

@summerfield I want to make sure that when I can finally visit you again, we will be able to walk around together!

The scene is a bit sad for lack of children at the playground. I like the cloudy sky and the light.

So pretty! I like your perspective and depth of field. Fav
