i forgot that i ordered this oval-shaped canvas. i actually ordered it more than two weeks ago using the gift card one of my young lawyers gave me for Christmas. it was just an afterthought as i only wanted to have it just in case i would need it (and that's how i've hoarded all my excess). the store said delivery was free for orders more than forty dollars; and who doesn't want free in these times? the lady on the phone said it will be delivered "tomorrow" and "please be home because if you're not there the courier will just bring it back." so i've been held hostage by that delivery for all these two weeks -- i gave the rental office downstairs authority to receive it for me; i planned doing my shopping early morning or after six in the evening; i pestered the store until no one wanted to talk to me; i constantly checked on the courier's website to track it down; i had my phone with me all the time (something i hate doing) so i didn't miss if the courier called. by the end of the week, i just gave up. still, i carefully planned my outside trips this week and still nothing. this morning when i woke up i resolved to call the store and have the order cancelled. and that's when the freaking delivery came. two full weeks for a freaking free delivery. and they kept blaming the pandemic for their inefficiency.
what i actually ordered were a couple of jars of painting mediums which were at a ridiculously low price and a pack of high end painting canvas that's also on sale. as i said the oval frame was an afterthought. and yet because i don't have any idea for a post tonight, i set this up and there you go.
i had to use my phone and applied some vintage filter. that is the assignment this third week of the 52 capture challenge -- using the phone, take a photo and edit.
You made a very nice composition of it all. The high contrast black and white suits it really well. I can sympathize with your experience with the order. I ordered an LP record from Wales and didn’t get a confirmation email but did take a screenshot of the confirmation that my payment went through. I forgot about it for a while and then finally realized I still hadn’t heard anything. After I emailed the customer service person, waited for a few days, didn’t hear anything and was about to forward my email to the general inquiry email address of the company, I came home and there was the LP record! At least I wasn’t held hostage as you were.
How nice to get a delivery of a whole lot of art supplies - even though you were held to ransom for two weeks. I'm most interested in what you will paint on the oval canvas.
Now, I want one of your own creations to blend into this oval frame! I think so many people recognise your efforts in receiving! (We got a whole box of red wine ordered, delivered next day! From another part of NZ
See? I told you that you are a master at set ups! This is awesome. I feel your delivery pain too but I think that is becoming all too common everywhere.
Well for two weeks' delivery time you're getting 2 pictures out of this canvas- one here on 365 and one you'll eventually paint on it. You were one of the "lucky" ones who got their calendar on time. I am just hearing from several family members that theirs have finally arrived. Mailed early in December now arriving half way through January. Funny thing is- one calendar mailed overseas at the same time arrived before the U. S. ones did. Go figure! Nicely composed- hmmm, maybe you could paint this set-up on that canvas now that you have a picture. lol
I have an oval oil painting of my four great great grandfather on my mother’s side. I took it out of the lovely antique frame but don’t have a clue of what to put in it. It’s not very large. I can’t wait to see what you paint on your new oval canvas.
