we're back to the 52 paintings. actually i'm only late one painting as i posted three in february, one in black and white, and two in colour in my other album.
my sister told me that my one flaw as an artist is that i am impatient. i'm used to getting things done pronto, chop-chop! and that moon reflection gave me quite a hard time as i had to repaint it three times to get to this. in the one i submitted to the artsy gang for critiquing the reflected moon looked like ringo starr. π now it looks like a bit of cracker jack cheese.
i had to spend my lunch hour to make right that reflected moon. imagine spending an hour just for that little piece of cheese. and i'm still not happy with it.
i enjoy mixing colours or coming up with colour possibilities for a painting. that is not a challenge when following a tutorial because they give you the colours or combination of colours before you slap your brush on the canvas. taking a photograph and capturing it on canvas is just like being a modiste or a quilter, matching which fabric or thread would be most suitable for a gown or quilt.
i hope you like it and i hope the photographers would like this, too.
Excellent job Vikki! I love the colours you used. And I find your combination of two paintings came out perfectly.
The moon, not the painted one, but that in the sky, does look like cheese sometimes. The one in your painting, including your reflection, looks like a full pinkish-orangeish moon to me. But I know that if you are stuck on an idea, then you can;t get it out. You either fix it or live with it. But the others don;t see it the same way. But again, it;s what you see that matters.
I think it is a wonderful painting! Whatβs your hurry? You have all the time in the world to paint. You are supposed to enjoy it, not feel pressured to finish it. There are no deadlines for a painter. You are so talented, just enjoy the process and let your creativity flow.
@louannwarren - yes, ma'am! (i swear, every time you give me a brief talk-to, i could feel my mother's soul around me; it's like you're voicing out for her what she would say to me. you and katy.)
