when i saw this photo https://365project.org/randystreat/themes-and-chal/2021-02-26 by kathy @randystreat somehow i have it in my mind that it is near a window with a curtain billowing in the breeze. it is a rather romantic thought that i wanted to capture in canvas and so i did. i struggled with the design of the pitcher and changed the fence three times and it still looks flat to me. before this third change, i submitted it to the artsy gang for critique so this is a slightly different look from what they saw yesterday.
in reality, the crocks don't look like floating like they do here; for some reason my monitor doesn't show the very slight reflections.
i must also say that i didn't know how to deal with the curtain and it didn't occur to me that i should've looked at images in google until this very minute. all in all i didn't do badly and it's my favourite of all that i've painted so far. but then again, every time i finish painting a project, it's my favourite!
@grammyn - i put highlights on the left side of the tree so that that part of the pitcher now seems more round but i couldn't make the fence behave like in the model. i may re-do that part again some time but i want to move on to another project. 🤣
i thin its really well done, the 3d looks realistic to me, and the colours are pleasing, looks like moonlight coming through the trees. At first I did think that was a blouse there rather than a curtain because it looks like a buttoned cuff
I do like it very much Vikki. Thank you for sharing it with me. I think you nailed the fence. I like the idea of the curtain although it does sort of look like 3 buttons at the lower right edge. I think you did a good job of the shading of the pieces as well. Well done.
