this building is part of the Ontario Science Centre which is a major stop along the don mills route that i take on weekends when up and about. i've been wanting to take a photo of this building but never had the opportunity so today when i took an evening walk, i took the bus to come here instead. it is of course closed to the public but the families from the neighbouring apartment buildings come here for their children to run around; there is also a trail and park nearby.
i've been here a couple of times when the grands were still young. entry fees are like highway robbery but ex-partner was always handy with his discount coupon book. there was a WW2 documentary that i watched at the theatre and it was a surreal experience. it seemed that the bombs were just exploding behind you, and because the screen and the seats were concave/convex it seemed you were right there in the middle of the war. another time, we watched a documentary about the monarch butterflies' migration and it also felt like the big butterflies were fluttering just inches from where we were seated.
tagging this for the architecture theme of week 17 of the 52 captures, take photos of buildings or architectural structures.
