this is an art installation in the art district downtown. it is supposed to be a likeness of vincent van gogh. the entire figure is hollowed in or concave so that not only the eyes seem to be looking at you and following you as you move, but its body also gives the impression that it is turning towards you as you pass. rather eerie yet impressive, mind you.
I thought it was van Gogh the moment I saw it! It looks like marvelous light and shadows but I am wondering if that is actually the structure of it rather than light! Either way it looks like a fascinating peace and I would love to see this in person
sounds quite unnerving. I was going to say that there was definitely a strong likeness, but then I thought how ridiculous of me to say so seeing as I never met the man. Of course it is in his style. Are you taking inspiration for your own artistic endeavors?
