"while my guitar gently weeps" by the beatles

"I look at you all, see the love there that's sleeping
While my guitar gently weeps.
I look at the floor and I see it needs sweeping
While my guitar gently weeps.
I don't know why nobody told you
How to unfold your love;
I don't know how someone controlled you
They bought and sold you.
I look at the world and I notice it's turning
While my guitar gently weeps."
(Harrison, from the album The Beatles (a.k.a. The White Album, 1968)

This is one of the more popular songs by the Beatles. It was composed by George Harrison. This song was ranked #135 on Rolling Stone's list of "The 500 Greatest Songs of All Time", #7 on their list of the 100 Greatest Guitar Songs of All Time, and #10 on their list of The Beatles 100 Greatest Songs.

A number of artists have covered this beautiful song. My favourite is the late Kenny Rankin's cover, which was a slow and mellow version.

wild card again today as there is no song by the beatles that starts with the letter 'x'. this should've been my posting for yesterday but i wasn't able to find a guitar to shoot.

this is one of my favourite beatles songs and used to play it on guitar when i was still a young warthog. if a beatles song was to be played at my funeral, this would be it, but i would like a strictly guitar version. i know there exists such a recording and in fact, i will be hitting youtube in a few minutes to find it.
Nice photo to match the song. I don't recall this song.

I love George Harrison songs...and again, it is interesting that I am reviewing this today as the documentary about George has just premiered in London. I am acquainted with Alan, who was George's roadie (his partner Audrey is one of my closest friends)...and so a song about guitars by my favourite Beatle...well, that is very special...and it is a beautiful image to go with a beautiful song :-)
