i know, what a way to start the month - a filler. 'tis a pity but i am airborne most of the day and doubt if i could post anything or take any photos.
this is not a selfie; my best friend lulu took this picture and i have permission to post it here. she took this as i was busy taking photos of the scenery when we arrived at my friend's resort on tuesday. believe me, there were more unflattering shots of me and this is the most decent - in my opinion. hahahaha!
feeling nostalgic already for the past three weeks. so much happened, so many revelations, so many discoveries. i'd love to stay longer and already we are planning on 2013. yet at the same time, i know this isn't home anymore. is it possible for one's heart to be in one place and the soul in another? this is how i feel. i know it may change altogether in a few days' time, or may not. in any case, i'm certain of one thing: writing beckons as there's a lot of stories to weave into fiction and the sooner i get them written, the better the possibility of not forgetting them.
thank you for your comments and sticking it out with me whilst i am gone on this trip. i really appreciate everyone's understanding. you're the greatest group of 365ers i know.
Love the warmth and the bright colors! We are all posting such cold and wintry photos now! Your dress is even so summery! Doyou have a stool here? If not, you are in good shape.
Love to see "summerfield in action!" Great photo, and you're beautiful! I know that you can focus on anything you want whether it's photography or writing. So put the pen to the paper, girl!! :)
Yes, it IS possible for your heart and soul to be in different places.....especially when you have lived several lifetimes and in such different places. It's difficult to reconcile at times.......safe travels, my friend!!!!!!
@jannkc - i got laughed at, even by those who carried big cameras, when i crouch or kneel on hard ground, or crawl whenever i took pictures of anything. but i tell them i don't just take photos, i take perspective shots. that usually shuts them up (thankfully, because it might be difficult to explain perspective hahaha!). thank you so much, jann.
@steeler - the rock bench is actually a set together with a stool and a 'table' or something that resemble them. they were unearthed when the property was just being developed. thank you so much, howard.
@sunnygreenwood - thank you so much, anne. lots of interesting things to write about; just need to find the time to do it starting right about now!
@espyetta - so now i am coming from too hot to too cold. good thing san francisco's temps are right about in the middle but the real too cold comes tomorrow night when i travel from buffalo to niagara before coming home. and no, i am squatting on just the old knees in two-inch clogs! not bad for 58, huh! thank you so much, MB.
@okeanos - this is in jala-jala, rizal. a friend of mine owns a resort place and we got to visit it. she owns the pick-up truck and employs the driver you met when we picked you up at the airport on the 21st. thank you, jeremi.
@karenann - thank you so much, karenann. you are too kind, my dear, but that just motivates me to do well.
@cscecil - thank you so much, my good friend. i am overwhelmed by a sadness i could not seem to place. i've visited four times in the past but i never enjoyed them as much as i did this time. i came to wrap up unfinished business, but left with so much more to be done. thanks again, CS.
@danig - the pool was lovely - we got to swim after lunch, under gorgeous blue skies dotted with wisps of clouds and scorching hot sun. the view was lovely all around. you should come next time. thank you so much, DG.
you look just as i imagined and what a beautiful background. safe travels home and glad to read there will be some transitioning along the way. bbbrrrrrr.
@catsmeowb - thank you so much, camille. i am now back in canada, in a hotel room in niagara falls, waiting for my car ride tomorrow afternoon back to toronto and the reality of life. thank you for staying with me while i was gone. owe you guys one!
Nice shot your friend took. Even a reflection of you in the water. I know what you mean about the feeling of belonging somewhere that is not home. I hope you have enjoyed your trip
This is a fun shot- you're so intent on taking the shot! I'd be thinking about the pool! I'm glad you had such a wonderful trip! And yes- I think you can be torn between two places and still live happily in one- but it's not easy.
@bkbinthecity - thank you, brian. i did enjoy the trip too much i think. and i have tons of wonderful photos to deal with now. hahaha!
@olivetreeann - the trip was indeed wonderful and now i am torn between present home and former home. so many things and people want me to stay there but i haven't forgotten that i am not, in my own parents' words, the typical filipino lass. thank you so much, ann.
@papuj - why not? :-)
