so come Christmas morning, after coming back from church, we sit down with family, sometimes with guests, and exchange presents. or the children would eagerly look in their stockings to see what jolly old santa claus had brought them. were you naughty? were you nice?
it is always a special feeling opening a present: the anticipation, the surprise, the joy. sometimes there would be disappointment, but we are taught to be thankful for whatever we receive. we are reminded that there are people, especially children, in another part of the world, who lack even the basic needs of food, clothing and shelter.
i hope you all had a wonderful Christmas celebration. good night all!
You said something that is very important to me. Be thankful for what we receive. How said some kids are not being taught that now. What a sad issue.

oh and I just want to say that one of the best parts of this Christmas for me was spending 2 hours cleaning up my son's 2nd-hand surfboard. the labour of love that went into working on something, rather than just going to a shop and buying a new one, was so rewarding. Sometimes these small things are just so precious. Let's never lose them.
Looks like someone is a talented gift wrapper. My poor family gets gift bags because I'm too impatient with the wrapping paper! Beautiful lessons too. Wishing you and yours a blessed Christmas!
sorry for the late acknowledgment, ladies. didn't mean to ignore your comments.
@olivetreeann - ann, thank you for the Christmas greeting and wishes. i like wrapping presents. even when i'm using gift bags, i try to 'dress' them up, too.
@russianblue - it was quiet for the most part, kass. thank you.
@patticake - yes, did the wrapping with my leftover craft materials that's taking a long time to get used up. i grew up not expecting anything so i don't get disappointed so when i receive a gift, i appreciate it no matter what it is. the things i would like i know i would have to get myself because only i know what i would like to have. okay, i'm confused now. thank you, patti.
