someone special gave me this fan when i was in manila last year. made of handcrafted wood and pineapple cloth with silk embroidery, my photography doesn't give justice to the beauty of the materials. fans like this one is a favourite accessory especially when formally dressed in a filipina gown. the filipina gown itself is a work of art, usually made of the finer silk woven out of pineapple and with more intricate hand embroidery.
this is an absolutely gorgeous fan and your photo really does it justice. i had never heard of pineapple cloth before reading your narrative; 365 has exposed me to so many things!
@summerfield you are the nicest person! thank you. my son, jason, orders material online and makes banners currently out of silk. he hand paints them. that is how he pays for all his armour - some of the breast shields and helmuts cost him more than $500 each! he will not take the money out the household budget. have to respect that, i guess. . .but then he has to have a trailer to haul all his and Shawn's gear around in! they are roman warriors when they fight. others are from different time periods, even barbarians.
@summerfield on a totally different topic: i noticed that when you went 'ace' that you linked your new photos to your 365 album for a few days. how is that done? sorry to bother you but i am a nerd. i can see my two other photos but do not know if others can see them as only one is getting commented upon.
but i'm afraid i don't know the answer to your question. maybe because i made the second album my default album then people were looking for the old photos so i switched the default back to the old album. i myself am guilty of not looking at other albums of other ace posters i visit simply because i don't look for it or i'm too much in a hurry. sometimes i see a photo that i like, i go back and find it's not there and it clicks belatedly in my head that the poster is ace and has a second or third album.
i think that whatever you post shows up in the dashboards of your followers. they can get buried though if those followers follow a lot of people and those lot of people post at the same time or someone they follow does a mass upload.
