the red rocket bench by summerfield

the red rocket bench

i couldn't decide if i would post this in colour or this way. i'm not really a fan of selective colouring but i suppose there will always be the odd exceptions.

on my way to the subway station this morning, i passed by this bench and it made me do a double-take. a stark red bench outside a coffee bar, drenched with the morning sunlight. i walked back (literally) and took my camera out and took some shots of the bench. if you notice, we had some dusting of snow this morning but they were all gone soon.

so this is the highlight of my life today: a red bench. how exciting, n'est-ce pas?

for the coloured version, you can view it here (if you are so inclined): http://one-photograph-a-day.blogspot.com/2012/01/day-710-look-at-me-im-so-red.html

wonderful use of selective coloring. even in the other shot, the bench stands out, but with the edit, it really pops and makes a STATEMENT. very cool shot. fav.

Oui- c'est bon! That's about all the French I can remember for a reply! But I like the selective coloring on this- it works and it's not contrived. Good job!
