yes, my friends, i've taken up smoking. not! just my first attempt at smoke photography. best if you have one of those big shot cameras, but a point and shoot could do the job as well (just need to read on the darn manual so i could learn the settings!). then i processed it in picnik and used the reverse effect. i love those scrolls happening in there. this is i think the 50th frame. such hardwork, landscape shots are far easier!
feeling much better and well enough to play with matches and smoke. thank you for your wonderful wishes, my friends.
THIS is a piece of art! You have done a fabulous shot here, summerfield. Great processing and POV. Lovely soft colors. There's no end to your creativity. Really awesome.
@slang - i bought the nice smelling incense last weekend. 6 for $1. thought i'd try it tonight. you should be able to get better results with your camera. i saw the how-to on a video. thank you, sean.
@bkbinthecity - just trying to do something different. and my apartment smells like vanilla lemon. thank you, brian.
@sticksandstones - i have to learn how to set the bloody camera's shutter speed. i almost threw it against the wall last night :-) but i got a good one after 50 or so shots. thank you, kiddo.
@alia_801 - if you have one of those muscled dslr's it is easy. shutter speed at 1/160 and aperture at f/11. obviously i didn't know how to change my f setting last night and the canon doesn't go up more than f/8 i just found out now. thank you, alia.
@myhrhelper - you would need an extra lamp light to focus on the smoke and you need to use your flash. have black background, too. i'm going to try it again sometime. i still have 5 sticks of incense i can use! :-) thank you, kathy.
@cscecil - you do? aw, thank you, CS.
@olivetreeann - oh, you flatter me so, ann. thank you.
@karenann - piece of art? might we be stretching it? hehehe! you are so kind and sweet, karenann. thank you.
