"Our universe is thought to have begun as an infinitesimally small, infinitely hot, infinitely dense, something. Where did it come from? We don't know. Why did it appear? We don't know.
After its initial appearance, it apparently inflated, expanded and cooled, going from very, very small and very, very hot, to the size and temperature of our current universe. It continues to expand and cool to this day and we are inside of it: incredible creatures living on a unique planet, circling a beautiful star clustered together with several hundred billion other stars in a galaxy soaring through the cosmos, all of which is inside of an expanding universe that began as an infinitesimal singularity which appeared out of nowhere for reasons unknown. This is the Big Bang theory." (All About Science, www.the-big-bang-theory.com.)
wow! have i turned scholarly or do i just read too much internet crap? i don't have any interest in physics or similar science but i do read, with a lot of interest, the 'parallel universe' theory where each of us exists in many parallel worlds where you can be many things.
so the universe looks more or less like this. however, i like to think of our earth more along the lines of this song:
like a clock whose hands are sweeping
past the minutes on its face
and the world is like an apple
whirling silently in space
like the circles that you find
in the windmills of your mind...
and, if you peel off the cross process effects, all five of them, you will find that this is just a fruit, the point of view of which was taken from right above it.

@karenann - thank you, karenann. this is my kind of abstract, too: something i can eat afterwards. hehe!
@steeler - uhm...excuse me, i think the mother ship is calling me. hehehe! howard, you funny person. thank you.
@cscecil - one of my all time favourite songs. nobody writes anymore good music these days, doesn't it? thank you, CS.
@olivetreeann - you are a good teacher, what can i say? you wouldn't believe it, but i was stumped with the first prompt.
@olivetreeann - hahaha! i like that!
@kaseycarroll - thank you, kasey. so glad you stopped by. much appreciated.
@alia_801 - thank you, alia. maybe take a pic of one of the girls and make an abstract. haha! all i did was cross process the fruit over and over until i couldn't recognize it anymore.
"There is a theory which states that if ever anyone discovers exactly what the Universe is for and why it is here, it will instantly disappear and be replaced by something even more bizarre and inexplicable. There is another theory which states that this has already happened."
