same subject tuesday - toronto's old city hall

"The Old City Hall features a large, 103.6 metre-tall (340 ft) clock tower. The clock room houses three bells, the largest of which weighs 5443 kilograms. There are four garnished stone gargoyles at the upper corners of the clock tower; these ornaments were removed to the effects of the weather on the sandstone carvings in 1938, but bronze casts of the gargoyles were reinstalled in 2002.

The clock originally functioned manually; it was automated in 1950s. In 1992, the clock was stopped for the first time in more than a century to perform maintenance and repairs. The maintenance consisted of painting the metallic components of the clock: bronze, brass, iron and steel. The room, at the top of the tower, enclosed on four side by timepiece, houses a glass box. The glass box is where the clock's operating machine sits. The room is accessible by stairs only - all of 280 steps to climb; the elevator built with the structure was taken out in 1920s. The clock's face measures 6 metres in diameter." source: wikipedia

cropped and cloned out the neighbouring buildings, albeit sloppily, to show the details of the structure.

@pandorasecho - thank you, dixie. i know, i haven't been so behind in my commenting i'm so disgusted with myself. it's been hectic at the office and now i'm stressed from worrying about my brother; on top of it all, i may have to make a trip soon. i'll make my way down to your album eventually, you just have to be a tad patient with me. hah! when i Are famous, i should probably be able to afford an assistant to do the stuff i needed to do and then i can just sit in front of the computer and do 365 all day! tee-hee!

@pandorasecho - will you be doing the nanowrimo this year?
October 13th, 2012
Shoot that was not a comment about me feeling neglected. Never ever feel you have to comment on all of mine. I never hit everybody all the time but try to check in enough to stay in touch. Not sure on NanoWriMo. I think so
