i should've made this a yearly posting - summing up my favourite photographs. but looking through this year's postings, there were a lot that weren't bad at all. i still have a lot to learn including post processing, but i am happier with my photographic journey this year.
my number one favourite is the frozen niagara falls, a once in a lifetime capture for me. i missed it in 2014 but with the help of my friends christine @k1w1 and cathy @cathrinemitch we managed to go on a cold day in february and captured the falls and surrounding areas.
highlights:
this year, i had my photographs displayed at Percy Waters Flower shop. it feels good when other people get to like your work, and making some sales in the process. maybe 2016 is the year my buddy @moniquenadeau and i would actually decide if we want to do a collaboration of writing stories out of photographs. maybe that's where our niche lies if not entirely in writing (for me, monique will be published hopefully this year. hint! hint! pressure! pressure!).
another highlight this year is having filled in jeff walker's shoes as a mad hatter. i enjoyed that sojourn a lot, telling stories and photographing them.
meeting louise, ken and nova, all 365ers, was another highlight. plus meeting two more wonderful people (B&D) and adding them to my roster of friends, both unforgettable. i couldn't wait to get back there and see them again in nova scotia where i have decided i would stay when i retire.
an unexpected event is finding that at i am still capable of falling in love. i wasn't looking for anyone at all. i was all prepared to live the rest of my old age alone with my camera and my writing, that was the plan. but then love came knocking. i'm glad i opened the door.
Ten minutes to midnight and I'm crying while reading your post. I'm so happy for you and that you have found love. No one deserves it more. I'm counting on you (and everyone else here) to kick my but into gear. I will finish my novel and we will work on our photo book together. Here's to 2016!
Oh, dear, now I really cannot wait to meet you in person so that we can talk about all this!!! ;-)))) Aaahhh, young love....must be so nice to feel that thrill again!! Well, you darn right deserve it....and, all the recognition that you got for your wonderful photos.....I will be lurking in the shadows in 2016! Let's meet either in California or NS....
Happiest of New Years, dear friend!!
