my get-pushed challenges

no need to comment. i'm listing here the get pushed challenges that i have done so far.

PLEASE NOTE: to my future challengers:

there are some challenges that i may have to decline that i know are beyond my capabilities because i am not technologically savvy and my post processing knowledge and understanding are very basic. also, although i am a very open-minded person, there are some things that i personally would not do as a matter of principle. they are, but not limited to:

- i am not averse to the idea of self-portraits once in a while, however, i will not do a nude selfie. let's leave that to those who are better looking and the younger people (believe me, you would not want to see me in the nude!).

- steel wool light painting.

- as well, that broken light bulb crap. waaay too dangerous for me plus i live in an apartment building, i don't want to cause any fire.

- that bracketing stuff? i gave it a try before, didn't work for me. i have too many bad posts to add another one, so no, thank you. this also goes for that sync flash rear curtain thingie. - [Update: done it once, won't do it again.]

- dropping fruit or anything on milk or similar stuff, i come from a third world country where people are hard up for food. i really really believe i'd go to hell if i waste or play with food.

- i have not been able to comprehend the photoshop program on my laptop beyond basic straightening, exposure correction etc. so if you ask me to do stacking, or layering or any multiplicity or levitation, among others, i would have to decline something as that might require a lot of learning for me to do. i refuse to do a half-ass response to a challenge (although i've done that once or twice, but i have good reasons for those) but i will tell you frankly if i cannot do something due to this limitation. remember i am 62 years old, it's hard to teach old dogs new tricks. :-)

- i will never photograph a squirrel, raccoons, pigeons or other pests; i will not glorify those rascals with a photo; also i am extremely allergic to cats and i'm afraid of dogs! :-P

- and/or such other challenges that may be issued from time to time which i know i would not be able to do due to the reasons and/or restrictions given above or may arise at the given time.

does it show i have legal background? :-)

now, here are the challenges i've done so far, just to spare you from wringing your brain once you've already exhausted yourself looking at my albums:

@summerfield I have 2 ideas for you this week (& pretty darn impressed that I have come up with these considering you have been doing get pushed challenges for so long! That's really amazing and wonderful). Ok as I mentioned earlier today my first thought was light painting, feel free to go with this Or here was something that I was thinking about as a challenge for anyone, not necessarily from looking through your albums - take the rules of composition and pick a specific rule to showcase for that days posting. On a photography course we were told the rules fall under - rule of thirds, horizon lines, leading lines, contrast, simplicity, framing, balance and layers. This article has same rules with some different labels. http://www.digitalcameraworld.com/2012/04/12/10-rules-of-photo-composition-and-why-they-work/. I know whatever you choose you will rise to the challenge and I'm happy to say neither one falls under your "I will have to decline" list.

Wonderful candid capture! You've definitely had some challenging challenges!

@luvmynynix - must try at least five challenges. they're fun when it's easy, and quite enjoyable learning something new if you haven't done something. thank you, laurie.

@sianipops - brilliant! love learning more rules to do then break in the future. :-) thank you, nia. will get to your push tonight.

@eyeseeu - thank you, deb. you're so kind.

@henrir - thank you, henri. much appreciated.

@ness50 - thank you, ness.

@salza - i was given a star trail then post stacking a few weeks ago and i said to myself: huh? :-) i can't even locate most times the 'straighten' button on the photoshop program. tee-hee! thank you, sally.

I don't do challenges as I am one of those people who do not like being told what to do! End of story. I know I could be more accepting or congenial or anything but I'm happy the way I am!

Love the back drop....

You are amazing do you know that, that is a mother of a list of challenges. I admire you tenacity and gusto so much,
Fabulous shot too

This is a great pic. I'm assuming that you don't mind doing a challenge again? I haven't even thought to catalogue my challenges so far, but I guess I could. :)

That's a whole lotta get pushed challenges. How can one come up with something new for you? I eventually quit it...when I kept getting weird challenges that I didn't want to do. Super duper cool bike sculpture thing.

love the image but love the narrative more - you go girl - it is good to lay out your boundaries and limitations so you don't waste time and can get to the fun stuff

I think the background is the perfect foil for the seated figure!

@ summerfield Sorry for the late reply Summerfield. My computer where I have installed LR broke down :-( I have sent it for repair. I hope to have it back before new years. So it may be challenging for me proces and upload the challenge that you gave me ;-D But I wll try. As for your challenge I would like you shoot an image representing insanity in some way or another. Have fun

What a great idea to have a list of your pushed challenges here! Must steal this idea when I take some time this summer to clean up my profile page.
Great shot, BTW - love all the bikes hanging as a backdrop to the reader.
