Sunning By the Pond

This male Common Whitetail [Plathemis lydia] was quite enjoying the warmth of the sun at the edge of a pond at my sister-in-law's home. I like the shadows - in part because they are adding extra detail to this pic but also because if we have shadows then we HAVE SUN! Yay! My favourite pic from the pond was actually a gorgeous pink water lily but I managed to refrain from posting it! ;-)
