This is year 3 for me capturing a Tiger Swallowtail at the dwarf lilac bush. It was June 10th that they were first following me around the garden last year and May 30th the year before.
this is so beautiful to look at. i wish i'd see them around here and capture one on pic. i love it!
i was looking at a camera like yours and a comparable canon and now i can't decide which brand i'd go for. i dropped my canon three weeks ago and now it takes blurry landscapes but takes great macros! i'm so hesitant about getting a dSLR so i think i should settle for a more advanced p&s. do you find that you capture the natural colours with this camera, anne?
that is your great butterfly shot Anne.....I think you are better in racing also as to take a shot of nice butterfly like this....you have to run behind it.....
This is beautiful! Do you keep a garden journal, or are your photos your journal? I thought my magnolias were early this year, so looked back on 365 & found they were right on time...
Beautiful. I like how you keep track of their comes and goings!! Now that I've been in our house a 2nd year, I'm just starting to see the patterns of nature. So fun.
Absolutely beautiful capture of this guy, Anne. We have few butterflies these days probably because of the prevalence of mosquito spray in our neighborhood, which borders a salt marsh.
@summerfield yes, i'm happy with the P510. i've always had a problem with very deep reddish pinks, regardless of cameras - 2 nikons, a sony, a kodak, etc. The zoom on this camera is awesome - the best on the market for a p&s. You can make manual adjustments if you want, it's doean't have to be all auto. The sensor is not the best --- we have a problem getting it to focus on the right thing on the very first try, which can get annoying if you're shooting things that are moving often, like birds and small kids. it's fine for flowers and such. The camera is fairly light weight, which is what i need. The movies i've taken are awesome, however i've read about people having a focus problem with video clips of say, a hockey game. They're less expensive now that they've been out for a couple of months. I don't regret getting it for a moment.
@eudora thanks diane! no, not much of a journal, not for the timing things anyway, just the pics. i've been posting a 365-like pic a day on facebook since i retired a couple of years ago and i use that ... ;-) great minds ..... lol
