No laying on the road to get a nose-to-nose shot like Wendy, not even more than 5 or 6 quick standing shots .... just get a shot and get out of there! Busy road, narrow shoulders, busy turtle [just laid eggs], not the most appropriate place to hang out.
I'm always nervous during this time of year - so many get hit. They are doing research at my cottage to develop ways to keep the turtle off the road and guide them into culverts or tunnels to get them away from the roads. Scientists are very concerned about their future.
