I love spending time by myself and I don´t think I´ve ever felt lonely when I´m alone. The truth is that I´ve never felt so lonely, that I have when spending time in a bad relationship. I think nothing is more lonely than being in a relationship that has faded; you are not geting anything you need but you are not free to seek the comfort of strangers either.
I need to revisit this theme later. I shot this at my friend´s house while I was waiting for my friend to get ready cos we had some plans. I used what I could find and I had not much time cos we were already running a little late. Couple of quick snapshots and that was that. I´m not very happy with this one, but it´s all I got for today.
I came home very late, so I´ll catch up with you tomorrow.
You did a beautiful job of setting this up...it kind of reminds me of the book club shot they are doing this week...I believe it is evoking emotion...this is really great Sussa...and I love how you expressed this in such a lovely way! @tillycarter is very inspiring and you made this very beautiful...of course a fav!
I like this, lovely pov and dof, that dried rose is lovely, fav! I do agree with what you say about loneliness and relationships. Being with the wrong person is much lonelier than being alone.

I completely agree with you on this. It is also possible to feel more lonely in a group of people than by yourself. The photo is lovely and sums it up well.

Great concept and resulting image. I think the picture in the shot is quite ok, because you can see it's a couple, and I get what you are trying to tell even without the description. If you redo this shot, you could try to add a bit more negative space all around & see how it looks like. Also, maybe the fallen petals are not needed at all ? Or just one, strategically placed to balance the composition... think about it :)
@janim Thank you for suggestions, yes the negative space would work better I think and I agree about the petals, I had one shot without the petals and liked it more in that respect but liked the pov more in this one, so choce this. Beautiful photo, great quote, and I enjoyed reading your commentary - agree 100% with you! My grandma used to repeat the old croatian saying throughout my childhood, expressing exactly the same idea, and whenever I found myself in a bad company I can hear her words...
Great storytelling, S nd beautiful image too! and I agree, a bad relationship is the loneliest place of all! If people don't like their own company, what make them think anyone else would want to spend time with them? LOL!
I also enjoy spending time alone and am never bored. Bad relationships are not worth it - they cut into the time you could spend in a good one or with your own company. :-)
